The Secrets of Earth Magic has illuminated for me many secrets
behind the inspection and reading of house designs.
Someone once asked me, "To become a high-ranking official,
what kind of house should one live in?"
I answered, "One should live in houses characterized by 'three
tiers of golden boughs and jade leaves, red snakes swirling around
a seal, dragon buildings and phoenix pavilions, or powerful horned
objects'."
"These terms are too profound and mysterious. Can you explain
them in modern terms?" he asked.
Following are the explanations of these special terms:
- Three tiers of golden boughs and jade leaves - The house lived
in should be surrounded by three rows of houses-one to the right,
one to the left, and one behind the home. These three tiers should
display the pattern known as "golden boughs and jade leaves."
(Note: "three tiers" does not refer to three-story houses.)
On hilly terrain, one must note the topography and structures
to the left, right, and back of the home to see if a "cradling
pattern" gives rise to the three tiers.
-
Red snakes swirling around a seal - An analogy can be drawn
between the location of a "master site" in a metropolitan
area and pinpointing of the center of a fingerprint. By tracing
patterns of swirling earth energy, one can locate this central
point, "the seal amidst a swirl of red snakes." Such
a site, however, takes an expert geomancer to locate.
The house of Yasuhiro Nakasone, the former Japanese prime minister,
fits this description of "red snakes swirling around a
seal."
-
Dragon buildings and phoenix pavilions - The terms "dragon"
and "phoenix" characterize outstanding and distinguished
personalities. A grand home resembling a spiraling dragon or
soaring phoenix fits this description. Again, only expert geomancers
can detect such designs.
-
Powerful horned objects - Inside a small and shabby residence,
an expert geomancer can install "powerful horn-like objects"
to bring fame, success, and prestige to people living within
the home. If installed properly, such objects can lead one to
become a high-ranking official. Improper installation, however,
can bring multiple misfortunes.
To properly conduct these readings, geomancers first must learn
to classify landforms and surrounding structures according to the
five elements. The following verses from The Secrets of Earth Magic
present some of these relationships:
Earth's Imperial Edict has a Wooden Seal
Fire's Imperial Edict has a Metal Seal
Metal's Imperial Edict has a Wooden Seal
Water's Imperial Edict comes from the North
Wood's Imperial Edict comes from the South
Information from a site the generates a high official allows one
to predict the ranking of such an official will achieve and the
duration of this official's stay in power.
In general, individuals with military careers should live in pointed
houses, as "sharp" designs indicate power. To the right
and left of homes, there should also be the presence of "Guardians
of Virtue," pointed formations providing the home with nourishing
energy. A flawed, protruding shape, however, may turn a "general's
home" into a home that produces pawns or powerful scroundrels.
Although the following quotes refers burial site feng-shui, it
can also be applied to residential homes:
A military official emerges when "Guardians of Virtue"
shine,
A "Craving Wolf" with a flat-top is matched by the "Fire
Star;"
Cradled by drum and flag, facing a knife-shaped desk, One rises
swiftly to seize military power.
Although burial sites thrive primarily on earth chi and residential
homes on vital chi, these two forms of chi accompany one another
and follow the same principles. Water flowing across land, for example,
follows a course shaped by the topography of the land, and vapor
above the water also moves along the same course. Both water and
vapor follow the same path.
The principles concerning houses that produce high-ranking officials
are highly secret, and these teachings are rarely transmitted to
people. Such information is truly invaluable. Without the special
knowledge of feng-shui experts, however, interpreting such sites
is a difficult task.
Among my students, there is one whose son, from my observations,
bears the facial signs associated with the making of a high-ranking
official. I instructed this student to install a "powerful
object" in his small house. His son is currently the top student
in his class and, in the future, will earn a doctorate degree. Eventually,
through his involvement in politics, he will rise to a top-ranking
government position.
An honest official with great written talent,
A judge bearing the imperial seal,
A true scholar from dragon and phoenix abodes,
The hall of fame will sing his praises.
My knowledge and experience in residential feng-shui can create
powerful transformations. Utilizing a home's vital chi, an impoverished
young man shall rise and transform into a high-ranking political
figure.
