Chapter 22 - The Seat Of Gods And The God Of Water
To set up a seat of gods in one house is to make use of the gods.
To make use of the gods is to change the magnetic field.
In our Easterner's houses, we have the tradition of worshipping
gods and ancestors, that is, worshipping "the spirits of gods"
and "the spirits of the ancestors". It is true that it
is sincerity that brings about responses, yet the worshipping should
be properly practised. Proper worshipping brings about double benefit
while improper worshipping may result in bad luck. In this respect,
great caution is needed.
For geomancers, whether a particular house has the potential for
"development" or not depends on whether the house "has
affection" or not. With affection, the house brings about "development";
without affection, it will result in failure. The analysis of presence
and absence of affection is very complex with a lot of learning
involved. Only geomancers with many years of experience know the
secrets.
What about the seat of gods? To judge whether the seat of gods
"has affection" or not is to see whether it meets the
god of water. If it meets the god of water, it does have affection;
if not it does not.
This is the secret.
The god of water refers to a river, a stream, a lake, a ditch,
or the sea, in short, a general term for any place where water concentrates.
There are flat places where the direction of water flow is not obvious.
In geomancy, however, there is this definition:
It is a hill if it is one inch higher than other places.
It is water if it is one inch lower than other places.
Here is a list of cases in which the seat of gods has affection
and has no affection.
A. If the seat of gods faces some water "outside the bow",
it is inauspicious.
B. If the seat of gods faces no water and water comes from behind,
it is inauspicious. It is called "water at the back."
C. If the seat of gods faces some water that falls from a steep
place, it is inauspicious. It is called "steep flying water."
D. If the seat of gods faces some water that flows past very
flat, it is "ordinary water". It is neither auspicious
nor inauspicious.
E. If the seat of gods faces some water that is "inside
the bow", it is auspicious. It is called "embracing
water."
F. If the seat of gods faces some water that is in the shape
of a fish's belly, it's called "gold fish water" and
it is auspicious.
G. If the seat of gods faces some water on its back, it is auspicious.
H. If the seat of gods faces some water that comes in sideways,
it is "sideway water" and is auspicious.
I. If a high mountain stands behind the seat of gods and there
is a waterfall or springs coming down, it is "overhead showering
water" and is very ominous ?/font> it may result in incest
or going against one's superiors.
J. If the seat of gods faces some river that murmurs with spray
day and night, it is inauspicious - it may result in adultery.
In short, to judge whether the seat of gods greets vitality forces
or declining forces is to see whether it meets the god of water
(in which case it has affection) or it does not meet the god of
water (in which case it has no affection).
To deal with all the inauspicious cases mentioned above, geomancers
all know the three talismans by Taoist or Buddhist priests which
can pacify the negative forces from water:
First: The Buddha orders that the water be clean and free from
all negative forces. Carry it out now.
Second: At the order of heaven, Master Yang Gong orders the Water
Virtue Star to come here.
Third: At the order of Heaven, Master Yang Gong orders the Sun
Star, the Water Virtue Star, and the Zhaixuan Star to come here.
These three talismans are secrets from Master Qing Zhen.
Besides, for the control of water forces, there are also the five-ghost
method, the nine-star method, and the 24-direction method.
Here in this chapter, I disclose a secret. If there are two trees
of different species of about the same size in front of the seat
of gods, or two rivers either in front of the seat of gods or behind
the house, this could suggest that the host is going to have "two
wives and two concubines."
Many geomancers believe that there are many taboos concerning the
location of the seat of gods. For example, the seat of gods must
not be located under a roof beam, nor under a staircase, nor in
a passageway, nor in a dirty place, nor any place there is a lot
of walking about.
I, Living Buddha Lian Shen, hold that the relationship between
the seat of gods and the water god is very important. As long as
the seat of gods "meets" some water, it is good. But their
relationship could be formed either quickly or slowly, resulting
in early or late development of the family. As the water comes in
different ways - in front, sideways or around "the waist",
there are differences in development - quick money by fair means
and slow money by foul means or slow money by fair means and quick
money by foul means. Only the adept knows all these fine differences.
If the seat of gods is to be moved, remember two things: Choose
the right hour of the right day; a master be invited to preside
the ceremony.
