Chapter 19 - The Location Of The Main Living-room

Most geomancers would say that the main bedroom should be the "head room" on the "dragon side" (the left side), or it should be the biggest, the best decorated room in the house. In fact, people who know nothing about geomancy will also make this choice.

This choice is not wrong.

A better geomancer, however, will make a more studied choice. He will choose the room which collects most of the vitality forces in the whole place. This may not be the "head room" on the dragon side; it may not be very big but often very small and shabby.

I once studied the bedroom of a film star.

I advised her to move from a huge, luxurious room to a maid's room. What a difference!

"What's the reason?" she asked me.

"The present bedroom is big but empty, without enough vitality forces. The maid's room, on the other hand, is small but full of vitality and power. If you believe in me, sleep in this room."

This film star listened to me and moved to the maid's room.

Strange enough, within three months, she got the chance to play the heroine. With the performance she became very popular with many admirers. She got more invitations than she could possibly accept. For a period of time there were some articles on the newspaper praising her skills.

Her popularity went up without limit!

Her only secret was that she gave up the luxurious bedroom and was sleeping in the maid's room.

Some people think that Living Buddha Lian Shen is the leader of a sect. In that capacity, he must have the best room in the house as his bedroom - the biggest, the main room on the dragon side.

Well, we do have a room like that, but it is not my bedroom.

I live in the "tail room" on the "tiger side". This is a small room with one door and one window which faces the backyard. Small as it is, it collects and stores all the forces. This is in fact the main bedroom. It can make me full of energy and willpower.

I would say that if the spacious and luxurious head room collects enough energy and forces, it can be made the main bedroom of course. With a spacious and luxurious room, the most important problem is often the window. A huge French window does not collect any energy but makes the room less solid. Sunlight and the window are the two most essential considerations for the collection of energy in the main bedroom.

Frankly, features of the bedroom have bearings on the next generation. For example:

Weak vitality forces - no affection - no children or few.

Strong vitality forces - affection - children.

To have sons or daughters depends on:

"More Yang than Yin" (more positive than negative forces) in the bedroom produces sons.

"More Yin than Yang" (more negative than positive forces) in the bedroom produces daughters.

A balanced amount of forces produce a balanced number of sons and daughters.

In your career:

Strong vitality forces - development - success.

Weak vitality forces - decline - failure.

The height of the ceiling in the bedroom is also very important. It should not be very low, for a low ceiling produces the feeling of being pressed. It is a great pity that some rich people have decorations, over their beds, full of bumps and holes, or an elegant canopy. They look posh at the first sight, but after some time, one will get tired of them and begin to feel depressed. This can be a symbol of "smothering" in one's business. It is ill omen!

The ceiling of the bedroom should not be too high either, for a high ceiling has no affection but gives the feeling of coldness. If it is too high, it can be painted with some dark colour which makes people feel warm. This is really the last choice.

Some people like to hang a lot of mirrors in their bedrooms. In fact, mirrors have two functions - to enable people to see farther, and to reject things. Most geomancers would agree to use them sparingly. One must consult a learned geomancer if he wants to get "miraculous use" of mirrors which make the owner relaxed and happy.

I believe that it takes real learning to find the real main bedroom and its relations with other bedrooms. At least, the bedroom must be the most "peaceful" room in the whole house.

Everybody needs a peaceful room.
