Chapter 13 - Where Is Your Store Of Wealth?
I once studied the new residence of a millionaire. It was claimed that this new residence was designed by a self-styled master of geomancy. To my surprise, however, the design was fraught with errors. This master of geomancy turned out to be an incompetent geomancer who became well known by sheer propaganda. While I was shown around the place, the millionaire was boasting about the new style of the house, his wealth and his collection of antiques. What amazed me was that this luxurious garden villa had got no "store of wealth", because there was a through passage where the store of wealth should be. The millionaire told me: "The man who designed the house is a world famous geomancer. He is often mentioned in the newspapers and he lectures on geomancy on TV. He's got many, many students." "Why did you ask me to come then?" I giggled. "Because Living Buddha Lian Shen has the Divine Eye who will know everything from one glance. Of course, more importantly, you are requested to give blessings to the new residence." "Do you want me to tell you the truth or lies?" "Why? Anything wrong?" he was astonished. "Block the through passage at once, and..." I pointed out to him all the places that needed changes. The millionaire was dumb struck. He never expected that the house designed by a geomancer was full of loopholes. He became quiet and worried. I regretted that I had shot off my mouth. Afterwards, the millionaire didn't follow my advice. He didn't make any change. He believed that a geomancer who often gave TV lectures must be good enough. About one year later : One day, when the millionaire was preparing some fruit for visitors, he cut off one of his fingers. He failed in his election campaign for the membership of Parliament. Five of his six factories went to bankruptcy....... Finally, the millionaire came to tell me: "You were right, Living Buddha Lian Shen! Within a year, I am finished! So those so-called geomancers turned out to be impostors! They are still cheating people today!" This is the very reason why I, Living Buddha Lian Shen, has written this book on geomancy. It is meant to repute the practices of those impostors so that people with some knowledge of geomancy will not be taken in any more. After we have discussed what should be and should not be inside and outside the main gate, we now need to see where is the store of wealth when we enter the house. The store of wealth is the place you see sideways upon entering the sitting-room. If the door to the sitting-room is on the left, then the corner opposite on the right is the store of wealth. If the door to the sitting-room is on the right, the corner opposite on the left is the store of wealth. If the door to the sitting-room is right in the middle, both corners on the left and right are the store of wealth. The store of wealth is the place in the house which is most likely to collect vitality forces and energy. These forces are not "still forces" like those in a warehouse. They are "moving forces"; they come in to be stored for a while and remain in the process of circulation. In other words, they come in and get stored, and then gradually go out. At the store of wealth, there should be no window, no door, no through passage, preferably no walking around by anyone. It is the corner formed by two walls.
At the store of wealth, there should be some pot plants, such as a Japanese robdea, a palm tree, a rubber tree or a silk cotton, or a phoenix. They symbolize vitality and vigour. These pot plants bring in greater happiness and development. At the store of wealth, there should be a goldfish bowl. Gold here symbolizes wealth and "fish" has the same pronunciation of "abundance". As the fish are alive, they are supposed to bring in liveliness. With a goldfish bowl there, the host's thinking power is enhanced, while visitors are prevented from transgressing the store of wealth. If there is a window or a door at the store of wealth, the vitality forces are not collected but escape easily. Then the wealth in the house will vanish into thin air and business will fail sooner or later. If, on the other hand, the store of wealth is properly arranged, it brings good luck to the family and there will be one success after another. The discovery and proper decoration of the wealth store can help make the best of the house design. The sitting-room is the "heart" in the house. It should not be gloomy nor should it be too bright. The corner opposite the door on the other side is where vitality forces are contained. The store of wealth is the centre of all things, which controls considerably the welfare of the whole residence.
