Chapter 22 - A Taste Of Suffering In Dreams

On the 11th of February, 1984, in Tukwila, Washington, U.S.A., a Blessing Ceremony was held. A week before the Ceremony, the Holy Red Crown Vajra Master suddenly came down with uncontrollable intestinal hemorrhaging.

His nose also started to bleed. This continued for seven days.

But, on the day of the Blessing Ceremony, everything was back to normal. The bleeding stopped completely. The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas indicated that,

"The negative karmas of the sentient beings do not disappear unless they are being substituted or transferred to somewhere else."

I finally understood that the bleedings were meant to substitute for the sufferings of the registered participants, because many of them would have to face bleeding episodes, such as car accidents, acute illnesses, or emergency operations. To pray for their blessings, the Master had to supersede. The bleedings, which had been going on for seven days, were to substitute for their bleeding mishaps. This was great evidence of the power of the Blessing Ceremony.

Here lies the great meaning of the Blessing Ceremony!

Ever since I received the Tantra teachings from Padmasambhava, practiced the Highest Tantra Yoga, Maha Mudra, and the Dzogchen, and attained complete realization in all of them, my body has become extremely, healthy. I have not had any illnesses at all, not even a old, fever, sneeze, cough, headache or fatigue. I have become insulated from illnesses.

Many people have the habit of dozing off and taking an afternoon nap. This idea is alien to me. I only sleep when it's time to do so at night. I do not know what fatigue is.

The Holy Red Crown Vajra Master meditates twice daily, entering into the great Vajra Samadhi of Cosmic Consciousness, merging with the Light of the Ocean of Consciousness of Vairocana, and becoming one with the Buddha. The Buddha is the Master and the Master is the Buddha.

Every day, I practice diligently on the moving meditation: the Maha Mudra, the seven chakra exercises, martial arts, and yoga breathing exercises that enables energy in the meridians to flow smoothly.

It's the combined every day practice of sitting meditation and moving meditation that keeps me healthy. Harboring no anger, not losing any seminal energy, possessing a high resistance to illness-these are the reasons attributed by outsiders to the Master's good health.

On March end, 1985, there was another Blessing Ceremony. 1 Strangely, this time the Master did not experience further hemorrhaging of the intestine or nose. Neither was there any pain, nor discomfort. Wasn't the Master going to supersede any more? Negative karmas have to be taken by someone else or transferred; they cannot disappear by themselves.

Let me honestly tell my students: the Master had not stopped superseding. He had just superseded in his dreams.

To make this clearer: for a whole week before the ceremony, I had weird dreams every single night. Some examples :

  • As I was walking down a street, a car suddenly hit me from behind, running over me, and splattering flesh, blood, and brain matter everywhere.

  • In an operating room my body was being cut open and the doctors took out a lot of things and sutured back a lot of other things. I bled profusely and received blood transfusions.

  • In an emergency room, I was seriously ill with chronic, acute, and terminal illnesses, such as: fever, cold, arthritis, malaria, diseases of the eyes, nose, tongue, mouth, gums, lips, throat, face, head, neck, chest, ribs, abdomen, hands, back, kidneys, navel, thigh, knees, and feet; I suffered hemorrhoids, diarrhea, phlegm, asthma, leprosy, boils, tumors, herpes, eczema, psychosis , epilepsy, diabetes, uremia, heart disease, pains, and aches, and semi-paralysis, as well as all kinds of A1 nameless demonic illnesses.

  • I was alive, then dead; alive, then dead again. One moment I lived, another moment I died. I suffered both the pain of living and dying.

  • During this one week the Master tasted all kinds of sufferings in his dreams.

  • In one dream, I even hung myself with a rope, suffocating and bleeding around the neck, and my consciousness drifted away from the body.

During the seven days prior to the ceremony, the Master's spirit was unable to control itself. Every night; I suffered for the students in all kinds of predicaments my dreams. This "sufferings in dreams" was inexpressible to others. How could anyone know that during those seven days, the Master had suffered through the worst kinds of torture?

I did not talk about my dream sufferings when they happened. In any case, when I woke up, my body was still healthy and sound, everything was peaceful, my face shone with radiance, and I felt no pain. One rarely hears of this "superseding negative karma in dreams," which is the testimony of authentic Dharma.

From this chapter, it can be seen that students who take refuge in a master of extraordinary lineage will have great advantages. A master of supreme lineage is a realized master, who has the ability to supersede and transfer his students' negative karmas, helping them to learn the highest , Tantric yoga and achieve spiritual accomplishments.

The Tantric yogas taught by the Holy Red Crown Vajra Master are authentic Dharmas; therefore, all his students are learning the authentic Dharmas. Having the authentic Dharmas taught by an authentic master of correct lineage , the students have many mystical experiences - these serve as evidence of the authenticity of the Dharmas.

"Sufferings in dreams" proves that the Master is a complete vajra-master, who has learned the Highest Tantric yogas and can supersede for the negative karmas of all beings, enabling them to attain Buddhahood.

I hope people who want to become Buddhas will exercise caution in their selection of a master. Many people take refuge in the wrong masters (false masters) by mistake thus destroying their chance of obtaining wisdom.

People who want to become Buddhas should take refuge in the real and meritorious Holy Red Crown Vajra Master.
