Epilogue
This book could easily have been a much longer one, as the number
of cases of Spiritual Divination in which I have been involved -
especially the more prevalent type of minor psychic events - is
just too numerous. Yet I shall not waste the space here to record
every single incident that has happened, as this would result in
a work that is less incisive. In the preface, I talked about myself
and my love for religious and spiritual matters. My passion for
such matters has kept me totally absorbed in their studies and experiences
which, in turn, have finally led to the completion of this book.
I believe the factual reporting in this work will cause many people
to open their mouths in amazement. There are also certain to be
people who will look astance at me, with suspicion in their eyes.
But, I assure you, all the events in this book are true. I am absolutely
not a person who is good at fabrication or likes to amuse myself
by deliberately cheating the reader with my own fantasies.
After finishing this book, you know that I have encountered the
most extraordinary events in my life. These experiences may seem
like Alice's visits to Wonderland. However, if they were dream events,
they should disappear when one awakens. But when I awaken, these
events continue manifesting in this marvelous world of humans. I
have never bragged about my special psychic or spiritual abilities.
I want to be just a simple and ordinary person because, when others
doubt me, I feel a great pain in my heart. Why do humans have such
an impoverished understanding of their own souls, that they often
ridicule the existence of the soul as a superstitious, backward,
and impossible idea? We must consider the possibility that there
are creatures on other planets who have doubted all along the existence
of so-called humans on the planet Earth!
Of course I cannot blame humans for their ignorance; after all,
the physical eyes of humans are unable to penetrate into the world
of the spirits.
Therefore I will not argue further the issue of whether the soul
exists or not as I absolutely believe in its existence. I currently
have many friends who love to study the world of spirits. Some of
these are Professor Ts'ai Yi Hung and Lecturer Shen Shou Tu from
Chung Hsin University, and Professor Hung Yuan Lung from Cheng Kung
University. I make friends with humans as well as with spirits.
Spirits do not just exist in heavens. They are here on earth too.
One can find them at busy marketplaces as well as in the countryside
and wilderness. The world of spirits is very close to the world
of humans.
What a pitiful thing it is that man is unable to activate the extrasensory
faculty that would allow communications between the two worlds!
This book is divided into three sections.
The first section, "Encounters with the World of Spirits,"
is a record of how I started out as a Christian and, through the
opening of my psychic energy, embarked on the path of Taoist cultivation.
It also contains the account of how I went from Taoism to the practice
of the Buddhadharma.
The second section is "Awakening of the Soul and Spiritual
Divination." It discusses methods of how to achieve psychic
awakening and how one can channel this energy to probe into the
world of spirits and do spiritual divinations.
The third section, "Cases of Channelling and Spiritual Divination,"
is devoted to case histories of spiritual divination and their outcomes.
I had originally planned to include more cases in this section,
but I realize that more does not mean better. People who believe,
will believe them; people who disbelieve such matters, will still
disbelieve. There is not much significance in quoting more examples.
If one is interested in learning about these other cases and in
getting them published in another book, one may get in touch with
me.
I believe in destiny. The occurrence of an event and its outcome
are brought about by many causes and conditions.
Can there be no reason at all behind the birth of a man? Is man
utterly ignorant about where he is going when he dies? No, there
are causes behind every happening. Birth into the human world is
death in the world of spirits, and death in the human world is birth
of the soul. If one is able to train intensively to awaken one's
soul, one's psychic energy, then one can definitely communicate
with the world of spirits. However, I have discovered that there
exists an important connection between the success rate of a particular
person's psychic awakening and that person's previous soul history.
Mr. Three-Peaks-Nine-States is my spiritual teacher. He has taught
me to practice Mudras, mantras, the writing of magic charms, psychic
training, and Taoist magic. He has contributed greatly to my development
from an ordinary person, whose knowledge of the soul was completely
blank, to one who will eventually travel freely throughout the ten
Dharma realms. Concealed in these transformations is an utmost secret.
What is it that enables a man to travel freely through the ten Dharma
realms? Can the reader tell what it is? All physical manifestations
will eventually return to the invisible realm, and all doctrines
being expounded will ultimately become nonexistent.
One can choose to believe or ignore these facts, but it is my belief
that if one studies and trains intensively in the awakening of the
soul, one can obtain great achievements.
I remember these words from my spiritual teacher,
"In the future, I shall come to meet you. At that time,
beyond the clouds, celestial beings will line up to welcome you.
Riding on a rainbow banner with feathery canopy, you will soar
from the world of men to a realm beyond the heavens. Praises will
resound from the four seas, while the five mountain ranges will
grieve your departure. As the world loses a guiding light, you
shall return to your origin, having traversed three different
religions."
Of course I know the meaning behind these words of Mr. Three-Peaks-Nine-States.
When I leave this physical realm, I shall definitely follow my spiritual
teacher to embark on another adventure. And I shall leave behind
in this world a wondrous book, Encounters with the World of Spirits.
