Chapter 4: Shattering the Illusion of Love
Someone asked me: What is my opinion of love?
At my present state of spiritual attainment, I really don't feel
like answering his question. But if I am required to answer - in
this state without a single thread of desire for love -- I really
have only three words: "#!@%^"
Of course, only a person with no manners would have uttered such
offensive words. As a practicing cultivator, these words shouldn't
be coming out of my mouth. However, "#!@%^" best represents
my rejection of "love" - my firm, deep loathing for "love".
I dare not deny that there are couples who deeply love each other,
nor do I deny the existence of everlasting love in the world. However,
the quantity of this kind of love is very small. It is so precious
and rare, it can hardly be found. If there are couples who love
like that, they are rare animals indeed.
"Love" is most unreliable. It is very difficult to define
clearly. It is the most fuzzy, muddled, crazy, and boring concept.
A lot of people have been fooled by "love".
While being fooled, people say, "I am yours" or "You
are mine", etc. But with awakening, they realize that "you
are still you" and "I am still me". They realize
how crazy they were to have uttered those words earlier.
The apex of happiness is a hell of despair,
Deep love can bring deep hurt,
Delusory and intoxicating love
can smash soul and dreams into pieces.
I don't know who made this comment, maybe it was me: When you meet
an enemy from a previous life, you will develop love for him or
her. If the knot of enmity was tied tightly enough, you will get
married for sure! Ha ha! This is really scary - you are blinded
in your eyes and deafened in your ears.
I warn you, marriage is the beginning of a body full of scars of
hurt.
Now, I only want to take time to write a few good articles, settle
down to paint a few paintings, and cultivate a session of Tantric
Practice. If you ask me about my opinion of love, I'd say, "Just
go away!"
"Love", get out of here!
(Note: this article is not written with any particular person
in mind; it is about society in general.)
