Great Ying Mountain King

The Great Ying Mountain King brought someone to see me. She had a human face, wore gold earrings and had sparkling white teeth. She had many limbs similar to that of a centipede.

The Great Ying Mountain King said, "Oh, Grand Master! She is Lian Yin (Lotus Lust) who practiced the thousand-hands-and-eyes Kuan Ying when she was alive.

"Aaaah!" My heart cried out. "Lian Yin has turned into a centipede!"

The Great Ying Mountain King said, "The centipede has many legs which correspond to the thousand hands and eyes. Lian Yin was very skilful at deceiving people and spreading rumors. She was an excellent liar. She tried to harm the True Buddha School and Grand Master. Many True Buddha School disciples were deceived and as a result followed her.

When Lian Yin saw me, she called me with great shame in her voice:
"Grand Master!"

Lian Yin saw me. Filled with shame and guilt she called out to me, "Grand Master."

For a moment, I was speechless. I pitied all those Tantric cultivators who have strayed. Rather than cultivating their 'hearts? they have instead concentrated on the methods of cultivation. They have entered the door of Buddhahood for so long and yet they are still lost, still lost in the misty illusions of their mind.

Lian Yin said, "I am really sorry, Grand Master"

"How did you turn out to be in this state?  All of you are supposed to follow your Bodhicitta Vows in your practice! ?quot;

Lian Yin replied, "King Mara had entered my heart."
She went on to say, "King Mara is very powerful. One has to be careful. When Mara enters the heart, one will stray, become foolish and loses heart in cultivation. Before one realizes, one will be slandering one's own Guru and try to destroy the True Buddha School.

"Sentient beings are like drunken people, following Mara blindly and becoming his sacrificial objects. As long as one is being possessed by King Mara, thoughts of harming Grand Master and dispersing True Buddha School will arise."

I was greatly shocked by what she said.

"How can that happen? I feel that it is my fault. I have failed as a teacher."

"It is not your fault. You didn't fail. You are compassionate and you even love the wrong disciples. When King Mara enters the heart, one will gladly chew your bones and eat your flesh. King Mara is filled with jealousy."

I told myself that losing the right thoughts is very terrifying. This caused me to worry immensely.

The Great Ying Mountain King saw me approaching. He immediately knelt down and prostrated to me with great sincerity. I was very surprised. I stretched my hands out to bring him up.

"Great King, do not need to be so formal."  I said

"Oh Grand Master!  You do not recognize me anymore!" he answered.  

I examined his face closely one more time and found him vaguely familiar but I was still unsure. In my mind, the face of a person slowly appeared.

"You are Lian..."

"I am Lian Ge."

 "Oh! Master Lian Ge!" I now recognized him. Even though he had passed away and since reincarnated, he still retained some of his features. That special look was still there. I was tremendously shaken.  

Grand Master! I had fallen into the Great Ying Mountain and became its King!

"This...."  I opened my mouth widely.

The Great Ying Mountain King said, "Grand Master! The kingdom is located on the west side of Hell, below the Asura realm. It is a thousand million miles wide and is empty in the center.

It cannot be reached by any means of transport. Only spirits can travel here. All the citizens of this kingdom come in weird and strange shapes and forms. They are half human and half animals.

I asked, "In the last few days, I have seen half fish half human, some shaped like crocodile and others like tiger and also huge head ghosts. Why is that?"

"These are all former disciples of Grand Master."

"How could that be possible?" I was stunned.

The Great Ying Mountain King said to me:
"Grand Master!  Do not be alarmed.  The citizens of this Great Ying Mountain are mainly from the reincarnation of the True Buddha School disciples; this is the cause and effect of practicing the Tantra.  They have fallen into this Kingdom.  Among them, there are also disciples from other Tantric sects such as the East Tantra, Tai Tantra, Zhong Tantra and the Zhang Tantra.

"How could this happen?"

The Great Ying Mountain King replied, "All of them have cultivated incorrectly and strayed from their Tantric path."  

He went on to say, "Those cultivated the 'Great Golden Winged Bird? Garuda, took the shape of a bird. And those cultivated the 'Dragon King Treasure Vase?took the shape of a snake while those cultivated 'Yamantaka? practice took the shape of a bull.

Those who cultivated the 'Money Tree Dharma?turned into a tree, while those who cultivated the 'Five Direction Wealth Deities?and 'Jambhala?turned into a rat. Those cultivated water became fishes, cultivated mountain became tigers and wolves while those cultivated Horse-Head Dharma Guardian took the shape of a horse.

"How can this be possible?" I couldn't believe it.

The Great Ying Mountain King replied:
"After I took refuge in you, Grand Master, I cultivated very well, doing my best to propagate the True Buddha School Dharma. I was compassionate and loved everyone. However, I was eager for methods that promised higher levels of cultivation power in a short period of time. Therefore I learned ten methods of dharma from various sources. I kept this secret to myself. In the beginning, I regretted but eventually I was proud of myself and possessed wrongful thoughts that those ten cultivation methods were the best.

I thought that my power has already surpassed that of Grand Master.  Slowly I started to slander you and your Dharma. By that time, I was evil but still spoke with kindness. I did all these for the sake of fame and glory. I eventually distanced myself from you. Grand Master, I did not realize that I was lost."

The Great Ying Mountain King continued, "Actually, I had great psychic connection with the Eight-Armed-Great-Black-Sky Dharma guardian. Due to my ten external cultivation methods, I am now dragging ten tails behind me. I ended up here due entirely to my faults and actions.

I was deeply saddened by this.
