Chapter 6 - The True Identity of the Solitary Old Man

I visit the market once a week to buy food. The people in the market gradually develop a curiosity about my appearance.

Someone asked me, "Where do you come from? What do you do for a living?"

I avoid revealing where I have come from and whenever people ask what I do for a living, I always reply, "I am retired."

A vegetable seller said, "I see you wearing a cap all the time. Your clothes look like those worn by caretakers of buildings. Are you a building caretaker?"

Another said, "You look like you're a foreign worker. You must be a road builder."

A fruit seller told me, "You like a cook in a restaurant. Are you?"

Upon hearing their words, I offered a blank smile. My identity, and where I come from, will remain a mystery. They will never know what I do.

All but one man, the coffee shop owner whose eye was healed by me, called me a Shaman, a witch doctor.

One day, the coffee shop owner came running after me, "Old pop! Can you help me one more time? Only this once, and I promise I won't tell anyone!"

"Who?"

"My mother in law!"

"What happened to her?" I asked.

"She's been having this diarrhea for years and she is so skinny now. Her bowels has never been good and she has to go to the toilet after every meal. I told her you cured my eye and she wishes that you can cure her diarrhea problem."

I thought about it and said, "OK!"

His mother in law is an old lady and I instructed her to stand firmly so that when I slapped her with my palm, her body could remain in good balance. I told her to stand with her back facing me. I prayed to my Personal Deity to empower her bowels and my right palm automatically slapped her on her back with a great force.

I saw light emanating from my palm, releasing a surge of energy. I saw the light around the old lady and the energy flowed towards her bowels. With a sound of 'Hum!', a great radiance shone.

Since that very day, the old lady no longer suffers from diarrhea whenever she visits the toilet. That is simply amazing. Her bowel movement becomes normal ever since. This astonishes the coffee shop owner and his mother in law.

Whenever they see me, they shout, "Shaman!"

I'll tell them, "I am no Shaman."

"Then how should we address you?"

"You can call me Master! But don't tell anyone that. I live here in seclusion and I don't want to draw attention to myself."

I am aware that my palms can continue to help many. That is because they emanate light and with it I can deliver sentient beings from their suffering whenever I go. I can definitely become very famous in this region. However upon reflection, I feel I should live the rest of my life in peace and not work myself to my deathbed!
