Chapter 20 - Sermon Given To An Expectant Woman
Once a female disciple in her late pregnancy asked me: "Grandmaster, you must come and protect me when I give birth".
I agreed.
The lady had to undergo a Caesarian operation. She was very nervous and asked me many times. After the anaesthetic, she saw me standing beside her taking care of her attentively, until her delivery, then I left. She was touched and told others "Grandmaster really came to protect me when I gave birth".
Another expectant mother must undergo the same operation, as hers was a bridge case - the X ray showed the baby's head was in the wrong position. As she was afraid of operation, she asked me to reposition her baby. When she was about to give birth, she saw me wearing a doctor's outfit entering into the delivery room. Using mask and gloves, I re-positioned the baby's head downward. She was able to give birth normally.
The doctor and the nurses were very surprised, as the X-ray clearly showed the baby's head was on top. But when it was delivered, the head came out first. They wondered whether the X-ray machine was not in order.
The female disciple said "Grandmaster really came to protect me when I gave birth. He re-positioned the baby's head".
These two stories were disseminating fast. Very soon a lot of people came to know about it. And I was given a title, "Lian Shen the saint, a Bodhisattva who saves people from sufferings, distress, and child birth".
I'd only ever went to save a female disciple who was about to have a miscarriage. I saw many blood drinking ghosts around the delivery room. They just like to drink the dirty blood from the expectant mother. If the baby is not born yet, they could cause a miscarriage; if the baby has been born, they could cause the demise of it.
I was very furious that they came to disturb my female disciple.
I chased them away, and hit those ghosts that were pulling the baby strongly, before letting them go.
I saved a disciple who almost had a miscarriage.
She wrote to thank me.
Once I went to protect a disciple who was giving births to twins. Her original letter is as follows:
The letter said 'You talked to me'. The babies were delivered in Malaysia, when I was in Seattle. How can we communicate? I am telling you the truth, it is not difficult for disciples of True Buddha School to see me. Normally under three circumstances, they are able to see me:
This is no miracle. Don't be dumbfounded by the distance. Although there are many mountains and seas in between, it is only half a globe. Disciples are able to see me in their dreams, sedation and meditation even if there are in other planets such as Mars and Uranus.
My explanation is:
My broadcast is transmitted to the Universe. If the disciples are able to let loose, they will have instant Tantric response.
This transmission is nothing unusual. My cultivation has really reached a stage whereby I am able to have unification with the cosmic power in the universe. My power is the same as cosmic power. As long as my disciples prayed to the air, I will be able to serve them as mercifully as I can (remote spiritual healing etc).
My teaching through dreams is a new invention. It is an earth-shaking event. People do not understand how it is done. To me, it is something not uncommon.
I told you before, duration my cultivations, Shakyamuni Buddha reaffirmed my Buddhahood, Amitabha Buddha delegated his salvation missions to me, Maitreya Bodhisattva bestowed a red crown, Guru Padmasambhava taught me Tantra. Other grandmasters such as Tson-Kha-Pa of Gelugpa sect, Ah-Ti-Xia the saint of Kang-Dang-Pa sect, Zhuo-Mi the translator of Sakya sect, Nalopa of Kagyud sect also appeared in my meditations (they were from the Red, Yellow, White Flower and Gan Dan sects).
Moreover,
All these Grandmasters of the Tantra manifested in my mediation to teach me. The most profound precise and inner meanings known as "the maha mudra","the great perfection" and "the most perfect and magnificent wisdom". They taught me the subtle difference in the Tantra teachings. I came to realise our own self-nature that embodies both compassion and wisdom, which all enlightened persons can use.
In my meditation I was taught by amongst others the following saints:
Du song Qian Pa, Luo Pei Duo Jie, Wang Qiu Duo Jie, Ka Que Duo Jie, Gan Bo Pa, Di Lo Pa, Mi Le Ri Pa, and Ma Er Pa.
During the same time, I received empowerment from Bodhisattva Nagarjuna, Salaha the saint, and Chong Na Ma Ti.
I had many spiritual responses when I meditated at Ling Xian Ge.
Among the Buddhas are the three bodies of Vairocana Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, Aksobhya Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Ratnasambhava Buddha, Amoghasiddhi Buddha, Ratnadhvaja Buddha, Prabhutaratna Buddha, Buddha eyes mother of all Buddhas.
Among the Bodhisattvas are Avalokitesvara, Cundi, Maitreya, Mahasthama, Samantabhadra, Manjusri, Akasagarba, Ksitigarbha, Nagarjuna Sudhana, Asvaghosa.
There are many more heavenly kings and beings I had spiritual responses with.
The spiritual responses that I have experienced during my meditations were considered by other cultivators as rubbish and non-sense. Those opposing me would say I fabricated them. Some even slandered that I had a mental problem. They failed to realise I am just telling the whole truth.
I strongly believe:
If you are able to let loose, you are able to see all the enlightened masters clearly. If the disciples are able to let loose, they will be able to see me, the founder of True Buddha School, Living Buddha Lian Shen. Many cultivators wrongly thought that Shakyamuni Buddha had passed away. I said that is nonsense. Sakyamuni Buddha is not subjected to the cycle of birth and death. I am with him all the time. He is smiling everyday. We live together and he respects me very much.
Shakyamuni Buddha shook his head and sighed "Although there are many Buddhists, none of them know a true Buddha is born".
He likes to tell me "I am convinced by you"
People asked me:
"How are you able to see things in the nether world (hell)?"
I told them, "It is not inborn, my deva eyes were initiated by the Peach Pond Golden Mother". But even with a deva eyesight, I could not see the nether world clearly.
Once in my dream, an officer in brown was walking up and down near my bed, as if he had something important to tell me although he dared not awake me.
I asked him "Why?"
He answered, "Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva wants to see you Lian Shen".
I asked "Where is he now?".
He answered "Somewhere nearby".
I tried my best to follow him. Like a wind he led me to an empty and deserted space. I saw nothing. He took out something like a crystal from his clothes and said "Although your have deva eyesight, you are unable to see the nether world clearly. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva asked me to put two drops of water from the crystal into your eyes and initiate one of them. After that your vision will be better, night view will be as clear as day view, and you will be able to see things and beings from the nether world".
He dropped the water into my eyes. Suddenly an outline of the nether world appearing at the deserted space. I saw many people walking on the busy streets. There were provision shops, snack bars, material shops, a beauty parlour and even a hospital.
Then we reached a place with many tall buildings with winding roofs. I felt immediately I was not in the same world. Many officers and judges walked pass us. Some of them even asked " Is Lian Shen Bodhisattva here already?"
Not long later a high ranking officer paid respect to me. He arranged for eight escorts using flags to lead me to the palace of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. On seeing me, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva walked down the steps and personally ushered me to my seat.
And a sumptuous meal was served. I asked Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva "Why do you ask me to come in the middle of the night?". He replied "Nothing important, you have been busy succouring human beings. Although you have deva eyesight, you need a "Yin" eyesight to see our world. Therefore I sent you the crystal water. The water is also known as Mountain sea eyes. You can see through sea and mountain. It is a rare treasure".
I thanked him for his generosity.
He held my hand and said " Lian Shen Bodhisattva, you make a vow to help me to fulfil my vow of "not to be enlightened until the hell is empty". Unfortunately human beings repeatedly committed a lot of unwholesome karma, you must turn the dharma wheel to succour more of them before they create more problems".
I answered, "I will try my best to do it".
We talked happily during the meal. Later on, the officer in brown sent me home. This was the story how I had the Yin eyesight. I wrote a verse to commemorate this:
In the Trayastrimsas heaven, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was asked by Shakyamuni Buddha to succour all the sentient beings in the six realms of existence. His title is:
In Tantra, his secret title is Vajra with a compassionate vow or Vajra who grants wishes. In the Vajradhatu, he appeared as Ratnadhvaja Bodhisattva in the southern count of Ratnasambhava. In the garbhadhatu, he appears as the nine image, Ti Zhang sattva in the Ksitigarbha court.

My causation with Ksitigarbha is very deep. I remembered he told me: "In the near future, one of your chapter heads will die of misfortune".
"What is his surname?".
"She" he replied.
"Please help him", I knelt down,"If a chapter head dies of a misfortune, a lot of people will lose their faith, somehow you must save him." I was very sad.
Using his mystic power for a while, then he said:"He still has a little merit left, maybe he can be saved. Otherwise he is sure to die. When the time comes, you must save him. This is the law of karma, people do not understand the cause and effect."
The accident of chapter head-Mr She was reported by newspapers from Vancouver news:
Most of us will enjoy beautiful love story and a cordial family life, and we will never imagine that one of these days misfortune will befall on us, when we have to struggle between life and death, and shouting for help hopelessly at the entrance to the hell.
On the tenth of October, Living Buddha Lian Shen was at the border of Canada and the States. He was welcomed by a disciple She Xing Jin who almost died of accident not long ago. Seeing his weak flame and limping legs, Living Buddha sighed "Human life is so fragile, with a little knock, it is finished, broken, nothing can be saved!".
Human life is impermanent, and unpredictable.
Engine operator, She Xing Jin left his house at number 1328 of 59th Street East on 24 September for work as usual. The family members were frightened to death when they received an emergency call three sometime in the afternoon. It is a bolt from the sky.
Mr She was asked by his manager to unload an electrical hoist from the second story. As the load was too heavy, the aluminium ladder lost its balance, She fell from the upper floor together with the hoist and landed on an iron platform four feet from the ground. She immediately lost his consciousness after the loud impact.
An ambulance sent him to the nearby general hospital within 15 minutes. In the emergency room, the doctors and nurses went into action immediately. They arranged for a thorough check-up, set up oxygen mask, carried out urine and blood tests, X-rays, scans etc. Preliminary reports showed blood in the urine, left kidney, spleen and rib bones were either injured, swollen or cracked. One hour ago, he was still as healthy and strong as ever, and now he was full of injuries and beyond recognition.
No amount of oxygen and medicine could relieve his pain. His body went into compulsion. He was perspiring, and had difficulty in breathing. It was so painful that he wished he could find a place to hide.
One of the gurus from the Lei Tsang temple was able to make a call to Seattle and sought help from Living Buddha Lian Shen in such confusion. Living Buddha immediately moved his fingers to do a wonderful prediction. Alas it was bad, the disciple was left with half a life. He quickly entered into the Tantric shrine and did a cultivation session so as to empower the disciple.
A dharma sister by the name of Ah Lian, did not hear the news. But she saw Living Buddha Lian Shen and space-travelling protector rushed through the sky around five p.m. with her deva-eyes.
At that moment, the injured who was lying in the hospital suddenly suffered a painful twist in his stomach and he started to vomit. He recalled the guru heart mantra that he chanted daily and began to chant silently "Om guru Lian Shen siddhi Hum". He chanted many times and he did not stop. Then he began to feel two streams of spiritual power entering into his body from the spot between the eyebrows. The streams gradually spread to his whole body. It lasted for more than ten minutes. He felt the numbness wherever the streams moved to. He began to breath normally when the pain reduced considerably. He felt more comfortable for the first time.
The doctor was pessimistic about his swollen spleen which might burst any time. As it could be fatal, operation must be carried out immediately, should the condition worsen.
Two days later when the full reports of blood tests arrived, the doctor was very puzzled, and could not explained what happened.
On 26th night, Mr She took two charms given by the Living Buddha --one for normalisation of swollen spleen, another for the healing of the broken rib bones. A day later, when a scan was carried out, there was no swelling at all.
The doctor was happy to announce: "You are very lucky, no operation is required, you may be discharged in a few days".
We are eager to find out how She Xing Jin felt after his ordeal. He was moved and said "I really experienced the omnipresent dharmakaya of Grandmaster. I now believe if we chant his heart mantra sincerely, we will surely receive his empowerment."
When Living Buddha was in Vancouver to conduct the ritual on the 10th and 11th of October, Mr She just recovered from his accident. Though still pale and weak, he painstakingly joined in the procession to welcome and prostrate to the Grandmaster. To thank the Grandmaster, he did not miss any event, he even joined the sutra recital. He said, "Both Bodhisattva and Grandmaster have saved my life, I shall propagate Buddhism, support the cultivation venue, and be a witness as long as I am alive".
