Chapter 2 - Visiting Intensive Care Units
Depending on the merit he has accumulated over his life, a person
may be uplifted and be reborn at the eight happy conditions, namely,
(1) rich and honourable among men; (2) in the heavens of the Four
Deva Kings; (3) the Indra heavens; (4) Suyama heavens;(5) Tushita
heaven; (6) Nirmannarati Heaven i.e. the Fifth Devaloka (7) Paranimita-vasavartin
i.e. the Sixth Devaloka; (8) the Brahma-heavens.
Tian Tai Jie Shu considered the eight fields for cultivating blessedness
as Buddhas; arhat (or saints);preaching monks (upadhyaya); teacher
(acarya); friars; father; mother; the sick.
As far as I know:
Reverence-fields-Buddhas, arhats, and friars (or monks in general).
Grace-or gratitude-fields - preaching monks, teacher, father and
mother.
Compassion-fields - the sick.
If we are able to pay respect to the above-mentioned and make offerings
to them, we will be able to accumulate a lot of merit for ourselves
this life.
Eight types of merits are mentioned in the Bramajala sutra:
-
to make roads and wells
-
canals and bridges
-
repair dangerous roads
-
be dutiful to parents
-
support monks
-
tend the sick
-
save from disaster or distress
-
provide for a quinquennial assembly
They are very relevant to the Chinese as a whole.
And yet some may consider the eight types of merits to be:
Serving the three precious ones, i.e. the Buddha, the Law, the
order, parents, the monks as teachers, the poor, the sick and animals.
While still others may regard the following as the eight types
of merits:
The Buddha, the Law, the order, those who understand the law, those
who take a long trip, those who move to a far-off place, hungry
people, the sick.
Whichever way of consideration, the sick is always included in
one of the eight merits. That is why we must be compassionate to
sick people and make offerings to them.
Shakyamuni Buddha had high regards for the sick, he even said,
"From now onwards, if you want to make offering to me, you
should begin with the offering to the sick."
"It follows a Buddhist should make offering to the sick
as if he is the Buddha. Looking after the sick will be the best
amongst the eight merits. If any of our parents, teachers, monks,
disciples is ill, is incapacitated in any way, or suffering from
any sickness, we must look after him, until he is fully recovered.
" - Brahmajala Sutra.
Buddha said a verse to a sick man who was about to die:
Recite the name of Buddha and do meditation,
You are sure to see the Buddha,
After you die, you will be reborn in front of the Buddha,
Now that you are about to die,
You must remember all the good deeds,
And manifest your true-self, and be emulated,
"Following my advice and take refuge,
Then you are sure to see the Buddha light." - Avatamsaka
Sutra.
"If you give medicine to a sick person who is cured,
When you die, your will be reborn in the desire-heaven, and enjoy
the five happiness. When your life in the heaven ends, if you
are reborn as a human, you will be rich and famous.
If you see a filthy sick person who is about to die, and you
give him honey and ice-water to stop his thirst, when you die,
you will be reborn in the cooling heaven, and enjoy the bliss.
When your life in the heaven ends, you will be reborn as a human
being and will not suffer from thirst and hunger. - (Correct doctrine
Sutra)
I am telling you the truth, I did not leave Seattle. My dharmakaya
is immoveable, non-birth and non-death. It is quiet and motionless.
It can't be seen, heard, smelled, tasted and touched.
But the dharmakaya has many uses:
"Depending on the prayer of sentient beings, the dharmakaya
can take the form of different shapes and sizes so that it can be
seen, heard, smelled, tasted and touched." This is what Avatamsaka
Sutra recorded. " The Buddha has many profound wisdoms, and
he can appear everywhere in the dharma realms. He is the guide of
the world. So is his dharmakaya. Depending on the wishes of sentient
beings, he will let them see all forms and colours. And he can change
into many Buddhas in one of the Buddha Lands."
Likewise, my dharmakaya permeates the air. It will appear before
the sentient beings, depending on their sincerity and causation.
Their wishes will be granted. I will succour as many sentient beings
as possible, especially those who are sick. I can be considered
number one saviour in the intensive care units.
I can use all kinds of powers to heal those in the intensive units;
the number of patient that I have saved can even form the population
of a country. I am still carrying out my succouring mission without
a rest.
Somebody said, "Lu Sheng Yen is a freak."
I replied,"He is real."
Others said, "Lu Sheng Yen is a Mara (demon)."
I said, "If Mara is cultivating the right way, he is a Buddha."
I don't like to argue with others. Let me quote a letter to prove
my point:
|
Grandmaster, how
are you?
My third son met
with an accident lately. After your empowerment, he recovered
speedily. The doctor was shocked but satisfied with his recovery.
My son told me when he was in the intensive care unit, you
went there to empower him three times. He was able to recover
because of your compassion. His left hand and left leg are
still not so agile, may I ask you to empower him again. I
shall be grateful for your mercy. Gu Qi Fong aged 15 years

What has the letter proved?
- I always visit intensive care units.
- I empower those disciples who are critically ill (worldwide).
- Doctor were surprised but satisfied (proof of dharma power)
How did Gu Qi Fong know that I appeared in the intensive care unit.
Because when he was in the state of non-self, he was able to see
my dharmakaya.
When I was in deep meditation, I can enter into a stage of non-self
- a stage in which I was reaffirmed as a Buddha by Shakyamuni Buddha,
and empowered by the Buddhas of ten directions of 3 lives. Only
when we are in this stage then we can experience what is dharmakaya.
My dharmakaya continued to appear in the intensive care units all
over the world to save many lives. They may see me as a freak, as
an evil person, or even a mara. What a pity, Shakyamuni Buddha and
all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of ten directions of three lives
can fully comprehend me. The arhats can understand me. The divine
beings from the three heavenly realms can appreciate me. The space-travelling
protectors and the eight deva beings can empathize with me.
All those ordinary people, fake dharma teachers and cultivators
with normal visions will never be able to see my dharmakaya.
I know very well, I don't belong to this earthly world. I will
always be a target of contention, slander and even framing up. Since
I am a different specie, I must be murdered.
No body knows him that is why Jesus Christ was hanged on the cross.
No body knows him that is why Shakyamuni Buddha was slandered.
No body knows me that is why I am no exception.
After learning the internal dharma, then I came to know the arts
of using charms. I must make it clear that these charms are not
the same as those drawn by devils as practised by heresy.
In Buddhism, charms are called Siddha.---from time immemorial it
means words of accomplishment. Siddha was the creation of Po Lo
He Mo Tian. The spiritual created by these words are called Fu in
chinese. The effect of the charm is the same as the great compassion
mantra water. Mantra demonstrates its power through holy water,
while charm shows it power through words.
The combination of both is known as Fu Zhou in chinese.(charm and
mantra)
In order to use the power of charms, you must cultivate internal
dharma and have the response of three mystics. If you limit your
cultivation to using charms only, your cultivation is known as Yin
Xin (cultivation of cause) in chinese. Achievement in the use of
charms is considered a puja by itself. Charms can be used for eradication
of calamity, merit accumulation, promotion of loving kindness, and
overpower of evil.
To draw a charm we must:
Visualise, chanting mantra and entering into samadhi (deep meditation).
I consider both mantra and charms as treasures. We must cultivate
in order to use them. There is a fundamental truth in both of them,
even a saint could not explain it. When I mastered the internal
cultivation, Buddha told me:
This dharma secretly given by the Buddha,
Now that you possess it,
Protect it properly, you must.
Apart from mantra which is an integral part of cultivation, Tantric
cultivators also explore the tripitaka of Sutras of Vairocana, Svaha
Sutra and Mahayana Sutras. There are other useful languages and
signs, such as undeniable dharma power derived from the language
found in the dharma-mandala.
Charm can only be used by cultivators attaining a certain level
in their cultivation, it is also part of Tantra.
Let me disclose a letter:
|
Grandmaster and
his wife,
We cup our palms
and pay respect to you for your empowerment. After taking
the charm of "reduction of water in the genitals".
Lian Hua Yi Cheng
went to hospital for final check-up on 28th October. The doctor
told him the operation was not necessary as the sickness suddenly
disappeared. A further check-up has been scheduled in a month's
time.
Once again, I
thank you for the empowerment. May I at the same time ask
the Grandmaster to empower the Tantric shrine of my sister
who is in Vietnam, so that she will take refuge in True Buddha
Sect. Please accept my offering of A$50.
Your disciples
Lian Hua Wei Xiang and Xue Lan |
Letters of this nature are countless,
Water subsided from genital,
Tumour disappeared,
Gall stone dissipated,
Cancer vanished,
Skin diseases faded,
Just before the operation, a disciple took a charm drawn by Living
Buddha Lian Shen. The check-up before operation shocked the doctors,
they shouted:"It is very strange, impossible, inconceivable,
can't imagine..."
The doctors at first didn't believe. But it is a fact. They have
witnessed miracles. They see the curing power of charms. After a
thorough verification, the doctors are convinced and they take refuge
in Living Buddha Lian Shen.
Charms/talisman are of spiritual nature. However, spiritual can
always affect the material world which we live in. There is a theory
behind. Even modern science cannot explain the consciousness levels
in our body, not to mention many other unknowns in the spiritual
world.
Tantra is cultivating "qi, mai and Ming dian", so as
to enter into deep consciousness. We must use the wisdoms of Tantra
to understand the secrets of human body. To tell you frankly, senses
of the human body are able to unify with the cosmos power, and appear
in the worlds of ten directions. To enter into the senses of a patient
and carry out spiritual healing is the great wisdom of Tantra.
Note: Living Buddha Lian Shen has written two books on charms
and mantra, "Ling Xian Fei Hong Fa" and "Xian Tian
Fu Bi"
