Chapter 11 - The Truth Of The Universe And The Dharma Of Five Colour Threads Of The Maha Auspicious Goddess

Fellow gurus, cultivators, honourable guests, good evening

Today's function reminds me of the ritual held at the Hong Kong Football Stadium. That day, the weather was very cold. On the other hand, our ritual today at Seattle is just the opposite, the weather is very hot. When it is supposed to be cold, it turns out to be hot; while it is supposed to be hot, it was cold. I call this "impermanence".

The main image to protect today's ritual is Vajrasattva. Therefore, we must thank Vajrasattva Bodhisattva first. (applause) After chanting the heart mantra of Vajrasattva three times, fifty thousand Vajrasattvas appeared in the air. Moreover, there were five hundred thousands of beings from the ether world. (applause) This ritual is really well attended.

When the founder of Japanese eastern Tantra , master Kong Hai went to Xian of China, he met a thunder in his journey. I remember he said "When there is a typhoon, we must change into wind; when there is flood, we must change into water." Following his advice now, when there is a big sun, we must perspire! (applause, laughter)

Master Kong Hai left Japan to visit China for two years. He learned the Sanskrit language first, then he learned Tantra from Hui Guo the monk for three months. After completion of his training, he went back to Japan. The lineage of Japanese Eastern Tantra is passed down from Master Kong Hai until it is now.

Tian Tai school of Tantra attacked Master Kong Hai. They doubted whether he could complete his study within three months. Master Kong Hai replied that he had learned the Tantra for more than ten years before he went to China. And when he was with Hui Guo, Hui Guo only pointed out the salient points to him, so he was able to master the Tantra quickly. That is why I want to stress this point to you, I am telling all of you, the fundamental of cultivation is very important. If you have already learned the essence of Tantra, with the guidance of the Grandmaster, you can be a master of Tantra within a few months.(applause)

Many people argued that Lu Sheng Yen only cultivated Tantra after he came to the United States. And he obtained great achievement at Ling Xian Ge after three years of retreat. But if you are mindful, you will notice from my first book on spiritual cultivation, entitled "A Talk On Wonderful Foresight". In its preface, I mentioned about I had been cultivating Tantra, and I also learned to communicate with the spiritual world. That was twenty two years ago. My teacher at that time was Lian Ming the monk. Do you understand now? Twenty two years is a long time, and I have learned a lot from many of my teachers.

If I am asked now, which teacher of yours can acknowledge your lineage? My answer will be Lama Sa Jia Cheng Kong, who empowered me as a guru (Acharya). (applause). Another one is from the yellow sect, his name is Guru Tu Den Da Ji. He is still living in Hong Kong. He gave me one image of Vajrasattva and another image of Vajra mother. These images were made by Living Buddha Gan Chu. The images left behind by my teacher's teacher can be used as an evidence. Moreover, I have a dharma raja seat which was given to me by Om Amchok Rinpoche. It is now kept in the Rainbow Lodge. A photograph of Lu Sheng Yen is also displayed above the Living Buddha Amchok's dharma seat in India. What is the significance of this? It is an acknowledge. (applause). Why do I need so many acknowledgements, and so many lineages? This is because a real Vajra guru will have the power of assimilation and summon. (applause). Living Buddhas will follow a Vajra guru of great calibre. That is why amongst our disciples, there are many living Buddhas. It is magnificient. True Buddha School is a religious sect that possesses the truth in the universe. (applause)

Do you know what is Tantra? It is the truth of the universe. If you have mastered the Tantra, you have the whole universe. It is yours. Where is the lineage from? It is from the air. (applause) Since I came from the air, I must return to the air in future. I will travel to many places including other planets for sightseeing. Maybe I won't be around next year. I am already forty nine, if you retain me, then I shall live.(applause) If nobody wants me any more, then may be I shall live for another two years. To tell the truth, I like where I came from. But, as I have great causation with the sentient beings of this world, I wish I could stay longer.(applause) All gurus embody Vajrasattva, I am telling you. What did Master Kong Hai learn from Hui Guo? He learned all the things that a Tantric cultivator must know and master:

First, he learned "the Tantric shrine".

Second, he learned "the true mantra".

Third, he learned "Self-Tantra".

You may think that we should not learn about "self", since it is our own ego. You are wrong in this instance, the self is not the external self, it the the true self inside us. The tantric cultivator must learn to recite and to fire. The fire is not the same as the external one. It is ignited from within, we must learn about temparature, smoking torch, light and finally liberation.

Apart from these, he must also learn the rites of chanting, empowerment and finally puja. Master Kong Hai spent three months to learn the ten essentials from Hui Guo. These are the ten musts in tantra that you must learn thoroughly.

Why do I say Tantra is the truth of the universe just now? After attaining enlightenment, the first statement made by Shakyamuni Buddha was :"All mountains, rivers, earth, sentient beings in fact everything have the Buddha nature!" Buddha and all sentient beings are one and the same.

What is the wisdom that Shakyamuni obtained after his enlightenment? The most accurate answer should be: The wisdom of equality. It is one of the five wisdoms possessed by the five Buddhas. I suppose all of you know the five Buddhas are. The five wisdoms are :

1. Wisdom of dharma realm nature
2. Wisdom of fantastic observation
3. Wisdom of Maha perfection mirror
4. Wisdom of accomplishment in all things
5. Wisdom of equality

The first sentence uttered by Shakyamuni after his enlightenment was one of the five wisdoms, known as wisdom of equality. If you can really understand this wisdom, you have the universe. You are already enlightened. That is why from the Tantra, you can be enlightened as a Buddha within a life time. In the eyes of the Buddhas, all sentient beings are equal, this is the wisdow of equality.

This morning, we have chanted the Vajra Sutra. What did it say? Sentient beings are not sentient beings, that is why they are known as sentient beings. To tell the truth, all sentient beings are Buddhas. By cultivation, we can reach a stage of purification, whereby everything is pure, yourself, your country and everything else. This is a fact; not a hoax. You will hear all kinds of chanting in sound. You will see all kinds of Mudra in action. In fact, what you think, what you wish will be the same as those of the Buddhas.

Your relatives, parents, brothers, sister, and friends are all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Your surroundings, your home are the palace of Buddha. What you have is identical to those we could find in the Western Pure Land.

Mantra is the sound of Universe. This sound (knock the bell) is a mantra. When you lose your temper, when you quarrel with your spouse and throwing glasses, they are all mantra.

When I turn my body to the left and right to give this talk, my hand forms a mudra. It is a mudra because all movements are the expression of my will. Body, speech and will are the three mystics in Tantra. If we can embody the three mystics into one, you are enlightened. This is how Maha Tantra works.

The Maha Tantra is an endless Tantra. It is the truth of the universe. If you master the Tantra, you have the whole universe. That is why I claim to be a Vajrasattva today. (applause) If you already have the whole universe, what else do you want? The Tantra teaches us all our enemies, our foes, our rivals and those who slander us are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

There is a conviction in True Buddha School, that the sect does not have any enemy. (applause) The Tantra has it that within the six realms of existence, there is no evil person. All sentient beings are Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. We must thank them for their negative empowerment. Whether it is positive or otherwise, We must succour all of them. That is the ultimate aim of Maha Tantra.

You learn from the most fundamental - four basic rituals to the most profound Tantra when you take refuge in True Buddha School.

I have learned all these and obtained the lineage from the air and from other teachers. I must thank the lineage from the air, and the teachers who taught me. Moreover, I want to thank all the sentient beings, for without them my perfection will only be formless.

The True Buddha Tantra is magnificient; and this can be vouched. We have achieved what others considered impossible.(applause)

Since time immemorial, we have not heard of dead convicts that have lots of unwholesome karma left behind sarira in their remains? We only heard of sarira from Shakyamuni Buddha, the eighty arhats, and the five hundred arhats. Of course, all Bodhisattvas and Grandmaster also have sarira remained.

You have read from True Buddha News and Flower Rain news that some of my disciples were cultivating True Buddha Tantra in the prison. They were Lian Hua Ah Lin,Qing Wen, Yi Sheng, Bao Sheng, Yu Xin. After their executions and cremations, Sarira were found in their remains.

This is a simple evidence to prove that they have their transmigrations to Western Paradise, to the Maha Double Lotus Pond. If they are reborn in Western Paradise, they must have been Buddhist of the right belief. (aplause) Then their Grandmaster must be a real Living Buddha.(applause)

If I am a fake Living Buddha, and the dharma is wrong, how can sarira be found in my disciples? Going through all these troubles just to prove that I am the real thing. For quite some time now people think I am evil, Padmakumara is fake, and True Buddha sect a heresy. I have thought for a while now, and I am not very sure. But if you cultivate True Buddha Tantra, you will have sarira, am I right to say so? (applause)

Shakyamuni Buddha had sarira, so have all the dead convicts. Aren't they the same as Shakyamuni Buddha? (applause)

What else is unbelieveable? If you believe it, you will be enlightened. Christianity proclaims that faith is eternality, by that it means being reborn in the heaven realm and enjoying life there.

In Buddhism, we believe faith is non-rebirth. After your transmigration to the Western World, you will not be reborn in this world again.

Although I have talked so long now, I have not started teaching the dharma yet. Just now, Guru Lian Yin announced that Grandmaster is going to teach an important dharma. This is incorrect, as I am going to teach only a minor dharma. What I am going to teach you today? Since you are here, I must teach you a dharma, otherwise you may say you have learned nothing from me. I am going to teach you the dharma known as "Five Colour Threads Of The Auspicious Goddess".(applause)

To most of you, when you come to Seattle, the most important thing is to have a consultation with me. The second is taking photographs, and the third is eating. The dharma I am teaching today is to enable you to do your own consultation. After this, you don't have to consult the Grandmaster, as you can do it yourself. You can do a lot of things when you have nothing to do.

The Auspicious Goddess is very merciful. But you must enshrine an image that she looks fierce, the one that she sits on a horse back.

During consultation, the five colour threads must be used. It is better to enshrine a fierce looking Auspicious Goddess at home, it does not matter whether it is Tanca or gold-plated. Two important points must be remembered: First, when the sun is setting; and you are about to light up the house, it is time to make offering to her. Second, when cooking your dinners, and the rice is almost cooked, it is again time to make offering to her.

What is the most important key? It lies in visualisation. You must visualise that she sits on a horse. Her right toe moves three times, one , two, three. While she is moving, she radiates light. You must use the five colour threads, and visualise that she is sitting in front of you. Her right toe moves three times, and radiate lights on the threads. Then you must start chanting the heart mantra of auscipious goddess. Chant once, and make a knot until you chant seven times to make seven knots.

Then make the threads into a circle and hang them at the left hand where you wear your watch.

Cup your palms and talk to her: "Auspicious Goddess, please give me a hint tonight in my dream, I want to open a restaurant, whether it is good to do so?" If you do this often enough, you will have dream, and know the answer whether to do or not to do, or the result may be mixed, some good some bad. This is the dharma of five colour threads of the Auspicious Goddess.

If you do not want to consult her at all, by so doing the goddess will protect you. Your dreams will always be peaceful. Your cultivation improves, and your body becomes healthy. Remember, you must make offering to her if you enshrine her. Formerly, the five colour threads must be wove by a virgin. But now in the States, we will have problems finding one even if she is not married. (laughter)

The five colour threads must be placed on top of the fire for a while before use. This is to purify the threads.

Once we know the time, the place, how to visualise, how to chant and how to tie the threads to our hand, we are ready to receive accurate indication from her in our dreams. This minor dharma is very effective.(applause) As the heart mantra is too long, I cannot remember it, you may find it from the book "Tantric Puja".

For the development of our sect, I believe in letting nature take its own course. I am not bothered by whether I have a long life or a short life; whether I am enjoying or suffering. To me, driving a big car and staying in a big house is the same as staying in an atap hut. I am only interested in the propogation of True Buddha Tantra.

We have two newpapers in the True Buddha School now; one is True Buddha news and the other is Flower Rain news. I hope all of you will subscibe to them since they are propogating True Buddha Tantra. Today, I am donating my most valuable Rolex gold watch, the one I like most for an auction. The proceed will be given to the two newspapers equally. My aim is to propagate the True Buddha Tantra.
